Lon Rusk, President |
Spring/Summer 2008 After two drought years the 2007/2008 snow sport season did not disappoint. We entered the Christmas Holidays with nothing but man made snow. The old year exited with two weeks of blizzard conditions, taking the snow depths well above 100%. Powder days abounded. As is typical after a heavy winter season, Tahoe locals are “Jonesing” for spring. Mountain bikes and golf clubs are already out. Anticipation for a typical Tahoe summer, with temperate beach weather is strong. With an uncertain economy, high gas prices and a never ending presidential campaign summer activity plans may look confusing to some. In my own research higher gas prices look like a bargain compared to rates for air fare. As is our way, when the going gets tough Lakeside Inn spends more money. We are continuing to make infrastructural improvements for you to enjoy. A remake of the casino includes a new carpet throughout as well as softer lighting. Less glitzy, more Tahoe. A million dollar kitchen remodel will make room for a wonderful new restaurant, which will replace the old Taberna Mexican restaurant. Due to open mid June, the new eatery, Latin Soul, will capitalize on the most popular offerings from the Taberna by adding a fusion of Latin cuisine entrées from all over South and Central America with ambiance to match. Can't wait to see you. |
